So it’s month number 2 of ’07. You set your goals with the best of intentions, but things just aren’t working out like you’d hope.

Whether this describes you or not, check out “Five Reasons We Give Up on Our Goals” to learn what to guard against. Here’s the list:

  1. Ownership
  2. Time
  3. Difficulty
  4. Distractions
  5. Maintenance

It all starts with number one. You’ve got to believe you are allowed to have that goal. Many people get stuck here. They WANT something or they NEED something, but they don’t believe they can/should have it. They say things like:
– “No one in my family has ever…..
– “I’d love to do that, but….”
– “I tried once, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be”
– Or anyone of the other thousand defeatest, untrue, self-deprecating comments that we can direct at ourselves.

From the article:
“To have a real chance of success, you have to take personal ownership
and have the internal belief that “This will work if, and only if, I
make it work. I am going to make this work.”

You owe it to yourself to make it work.
And you owe it to us too.
